Biggest Group visits Te Mahoerangi
The biggest group we have had to accomodate visits Te Mahoerangi and proves a great success. 33 Trampers from the Methodist Church enjoy our new cabins for the first time, plus a BBQ dinner and breakfast as part of a week in the Marlborough Sounds. It was touching sight to see them all squeeze into our fire pit for a group sing a long.

MEET is published in the October/November 2006 edition of Owner Builder Magazine.

Re-Opened 1st of January 2006
After closing in protest against 1080 being dropped in our fragile environment, Te Mahoerangi has reopened 2006 with new and improved facilities. The main building with relaxing porches, lounges, welcoming kitchen and comfy dorm room is complete and looking fantastic. Still to come soon are three additional rustic cabins, the relocated organic vege garden, herb garden and outdoor sitting area, outdoor adobe pizza oven, fire pit and more cosy corners to escape to. Visit this page again soon for updates on our construction.
Possum Update
Our dedicated possum trappers Bob, Seamus and Duncan have successfully eradicated several thousand possums, stoats and rats through large areas of the Nydia Bay Environs using only non toxic trapping methods during long hard days and nights in all weather conditions through all our seasons. They have worked in conjuction with the Department of Conservation.
Our last DOC contract, Pine Bay, saw Bob and Seamus acheive exceptional results with a 0.96% catch rate. With 0% being the highest possible catch rate this proves that the hard work pays off, and an added bonus is that our environment remain poison free and the birds continue to sing.
The Trapping continues towards the collective aim of creating the only pest and toxin free track in New Zealand
