Accommodation Marlborough Sounds walkway
We are closed until October 2010 - we welcome any enquiries for next season.
Welcome to Te Mahoerangi Eco Lodge. We are situated on the shores of Nydia Bay, a quiet corner of the Marlborough Sounds. We have access only by boat or walking the Nydia Track. This is a project to provide accommodation to share with you this beautiful and tranquil part of the world. Behind the eco lodge is an impressive peak which has historical and spiritual significance and provides a wonderful backdrop to Nydia Bay - Pelorus Sound, Marlborough, South Island NZ.

The Nydia track is a wonderful 2 day hike on a track maintained by the Department of Conservation. The Nydia Track is open for tramping and mountain biking.
Eco Lodge Accommodation - nature retreat on the Nydia tramping track - Marlborough Sounds walking track.

Get away from the busy Queen Charlotte Track and explore the remote Nydia Track and Pelorus Sound.
Accommodation Te Mahoerangi Eco Lodge in Nydia Bay is a peaceful place to rest for a few days or whilst you walk the remote Nydia Track Marlborough Sounds walkway . We also provide water transport with our WATER TAXI for those who don't fancy the walk!
Once here, there are various options for you to try. Hire a Kayak, for a sunset paddle or a whole day adventure, walk another track to explore the history of the bay, swim or relax on our varandas whilst you rest your feet. We have a fully equipped shared kitchen and we offer evening meals, breakfast and on multiple night stays, a packed lunch.
Te Mahoerangi Eco Lodge has been part of a project to keep the pesticide 1080 out of Nydia Bay since 1996. In order to continue the nurturing of the local environment we have established a 'Biodiversity Enhancement Fund' in conjunction with the Nydia Bay Residents Association. This we hope will create more interest in the Bay for active participation in the project & enable a wide range of issues to be addressed. In order to achieve this we need to work more with other environmental organisations & are gratefully receiving some funding from commercial guiding operators using our facilities. Of course we welcome donations from you, the general public.
